My tip“Guided tours of the castle run daily for a small fee. In the town there is a large square with Gothic arcades and underground tunnels that can be visited. The Motorland circuit is nearby for racing fans.”
A castle on the “Pui Pinos” hill above the town, once the seat of the Order of Calatrava in Aragon, containing rare Gothic murals of scenes from the Crusades and medieval life, and now the “Parador” hotel.
Easy to reach, needs a car
An hour and 20 minutes from Zaragoza by car. The road up to the castle is narrow and climbs; parking above. Two hours.
