My tip“The Pinya Cortada channel trail takes 3–4 hours; for families the short water trail in the village is enough. Take water in summer.”
A mountain town in the upper Turia valley, keeping its Andalusi quarter of “Benacacira”, with narrow winding alleys and white houses decorated with flowers. The “water route” starts here, leading to the Roman Peña Cortada channel carved into the mountain.
What to see
The Andalusi quarter of Benacacira · the Mudéjar quarter “Arrabal” · the Water Route and springs · the Roman Peña Cortada channel (medium trail) · an old mosque turned into the “Los Ángeles” hermitage
Moderate effort, needs a car
An hour and 15 minutes from Valencia by car. Sloping alleys and stairs; half a day.
