A recreation area in the Navafría pine forest, well equipped, with tables, a designated barbecue area and a restaurant. It is a 15-minute walk to the El Chorro waterfall and its pool, and the Navafría natural pools are nearby.
Easy to reach, needs a car
By car about an hour and a half from Madrid via the Navafría pass; tables near the car park, and the waterfall is a short climb. Plenty of shade.

Conditional: allowed only at the fixed, designated grills outside the danger season (usually banned from about 1 July to 30 September and on alert days); check the signs.
