My tip“There is a café, a shop and toilets on site; only the church and the crypt can be visited. Combine it with Castillo de Javier (10 min) and Foz de Lumbier.”
A Benedictine monastery on a mountainside above the Yesa reservoir, one of Navarra's oldest monasteries and the burial place of its first kings. Its most notable feature is an 11th-century crypt with short, massive columns and heavy arches, where the monks still chant.
Easy to reach, needs a car
50 minutes from Pamplona by car. Relatively flat; one hour.
