My tip“About 50 min from Pamplona. The ticket is symbolic (≈3.5€), and the visit takes an hour. Climbing the tower is by a narrow staircase; the rest is easy. Free parking and toilets. Combine it with Foz de Lumbier (15 min).”
A carefully restored 10th-century castle, with its towers, bridge and guard walkways, a witness to the frontiers of the northern kingdoms. It displays medieval life and a collection of paintings, and has a chapel with rare Gothic “Dance of Death” murals.
