A modern interpretation centre at the foot of the Monteagudo rock explains the “Castillejo”, the palace of Prince Muhammad ibn Sa’d ibn Mardanish with its cross-shaped garden, and the Monteagudo castle on the rock above; one of the most important sites of Andalusi architecture in the 12th century CE.
