“Start at the reception centre to watch the introductory film, then walk into Menga and Viera; El Romeral is 4 km away by car. Entry is free. Combine it with the Antequera alcazaba and El Torcal in one day.”

Three giant stone tombs (Menga, Viera and El Romeral), the oldest dating to around 3800 BCE, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2016. The entrance of the Menga dolmen faces the mountain La Peña de los Enamorados, in a unique alignment between human building and the terrain.

Easy to reach, needs a car

Free car park at the centre, and short paved paths rising slightly to the dolmens; suitable for families and older people. Closed on Mondays, and open on Sundays until 14:30.
