My pick
My tip“The visit is 30–45 minutes and the ground is wet and slippery. It is 15 minutes from Málaga, and can be combined with the Cueva de Nerja in one day.”
One of only 3 sea caves of its kind in the world. An Andalusi legend is woven around it: that 5 Almoravid kings hid their treasure there in the 12th century — which is where its name, “the Treasure Cave”, comes from — and treasure hunters searched for it for centuries in vain.
Easy to reach
On a hill above Rincón de la Victoria; a car park nearby. Narrow passages and stairs. Buses from Málaga.
