One of my places in Granada

Castillo de Íllora

Íllora

Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-MudarraMy tip
“The visit is guided and must be booked in advance through the tourist office (the guide speaks English); the tour takes about two hours.”

A Nasrid fortress on a sheer rock, nicknamed “the Eye of Granada” because it watched over the western road to the capital. It was recently restored and its huge water cisterns uncovered.

Moderate effort, needs a car

By car (40 minutes from Granada); the guided tour takes about two hours, climbing paths and steep steps above the rock. Advance booking is compulsory. Little shade; services in the town.
