My pick
My tip“Best time: sunrise or sunset from the Mirador de San Nicolás (very crowded at sunset). Calle Calderería is full of Moroccan and Levantine halal restaurants and teterías. Take the small C31/C32 bus and walk down; beware of pickpockets at the lookout at night.”
The oldest Andalusian neighbourhood in Granada, on the hill opposite the Alhambra, with winding alleys and white houses with “carmen” gardens. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list for preserving its Andalusian urban fabric. From its terraces there is the finest view of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains.
