A mountain rack railway climbs for 40 minutes through Pyrenean gorges to the Núria valley, which is closed to cars. There you will find a lake, a shrine, a cable car and family activities. In winter it becomes a small ski area suitable for beginners and children.
Easy to reach
Two hours from Barcelona to Ribes de Freser or Queralbs by car or R3 train, then the rack railway; the valley is flat around the lake.
