My pick
My tip“Its opening times are irregular, so stop first at the tourist office in Cabezuela del Valle. Blossom is usually late March–early April, and the harvest May–July.”
In the Jerte Valley in Cáceres province, more than a million cherry trees bloom together in the “Cherry Blossom” festival (Cerezo en Flor), covering the mountains in white, followed by the harvest of the famous “Picota” cherries. The museum tells the story of this mountain farming and its terraces.
Easy to reach, needs a car
Inside Cabezuela del Valle on the N-110; parking nearby. A short visit. The cherry blossom festival (March–April) is very crowded. No practical public transport.
Season
