My tip“A short visit of one to two hours; the seafood restaurants on the harbour are famous. A few minutes away are dinosaur footprints on La Ousa beach.”
A small, colourful fishing village at the mouth of the Villaviciosa estuary, where Emperor Charles V first landed in Spain in 1517. Its houses are decorated with shells, and its alleys slope down towards the harbour.
Easy to reach, needs a car
30 minutes by car from Gijón; parking at the entrance to the village, and the walk down to the port is downhill.
