My tip“Chairs and umbrellas for hire, lifeguards and toilets in summer; keep away from the exposed end if the wind is strong. Combine it with Cambados and Combarro.”
One of the best-known beaches of the Rías Baixas: two kilometres of golden sand on the isthmus of O Grove island, with the remains of a fort and a small old church on the rocks. A wide family beach, but the ocean is cold (17–19°) and the waves are sometimes strong.
Easy to reach
By car or summer buses from Pontevedra or O Grove; parking along the road and short wooden walkways down to the sand. Lifeguards, toilets and chairs in summer. The wind is strong at the exposed end and there is no natural shade; bring an umbrella.
