Toledo is a city of hills, with steep, cobbled alleys — comfortable shoes are essential, and use the escalators at Puerta de Bisagra. On Mondays the Alcázar/Army Museum, the Mezquita de las Tornerías and the Tránsito Synagogue are closed. The Mirador del Valle is a long walk from the centre (about 3 km, with slopes).
