A flooded lake formed from old excavations inside the Parque Regional del Sureste near Rivas-Vaciamadrid, with paths, waterbirds and picnic tables around it. The closest “nature” to southeast Madrid.
Easy to reach
About 25 minutes from Madrid by car via the A-3, or C3 train to Rivas/El Campillo, then walk. Tables near the car park.
Barbecue
Not allowed: the Madrid region bans barbecues and lighting fires in forest areas all year round, including recreation areas; bring ready-made food.
