My tip“The meadows on the bank are good for spreading a rug; the most tables are at nearby Las Presillas. Children can wade carefully at the calm banks. Take your waste back with you.”
An 18th-century stone bridge over the Lozoya River, opposite the El Paular monastery, surrounded by meadows, riverbanks and shady paths. A pleasant starting point for a walk between Rascafría and the monastery.
Easy to reach, needs a car
By car via the M-604; roadside parking near the bridge and the monastery. Level walk with abundant shade.
Barbecue
Not allowed: the Madrid region bans barbecues and lighting fires in forest areas all year round, including recreation areas; bring ready-made food.
