One of my places in Madrid

Navacerrada (pueblo)

Navacerrada

Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-MudarraMy tip
“About 50 minutes by car via the A-6 and then the M-601, or by bus 691 from Moncloa station. Parking in the village is limited at weekends, so park in the public car parks at its entrance (Av. de Madrid) and walk; the village lanes are slightly steep but easy. Take a coat even in spring.”

A pretty mountain village at about 1200 m at the foot of the Guadarrama peaks, about 50 km from Madrid. It has kept its traditional stone houses around the Plaza de los Ángeles, its famous fountain and a sixteenth-century church. It is the gateway to the Valle de La Barranca, the Navacerrada reservoir and the mountain-pass road for skiing, and its weather is clearly cooler than Madrid’s all year round.
