My tip“Park in the free lots on Carretera de La Barranca; they fill up before 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, so come early or come after 1 p.m. Easy trails on a shaded dirt road suit children, and others climb to the viewpoints (one to two hours). Do not light a fire; barbecues are forbidden.”
A pine-forested valley inside the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, starting 8 minutes by car from the village, with two small dam reservoirs and trails of graduated difficulty. An ideal place for a family outing and to escape Madrid’s summer heat.
