Barrio de las Letras

Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-MudarraMy tip
“Visit Lope de Vega's house (Calle de Cervantes 11) on a free guided tour booked in advance, and walk along Calle de las Huertas to read the quotations on the pavement.”

The neighbourhood where the Golden Age greats lived: Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Quevedo and Góngora. Cervantes is buried there, in the Trinitarian convent. Its pavements are inscribed with lines of their poetry in brass letters, and Lope de Vega’s house is preserved with its small garden as it was in the 17th century.
