One of my places in Madrid

Plaza Mayor de Chinchón

Chinchón

Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-MudarraMy tip
“50 minutes by car; sit for lunch on a balcony overlooking the square, and avoid the crowded Sunday midday.”

An enchanting Castilian village whose irregular main square is surrounded by buildings with 234 wooden balconies since the 15th century, sometimes turned into a festival arena. One of the loveliest villages on the outskirts of Madrid.

What to see

The Plaza Mayor with its green wooden balconies · the Castillo de los Condes de Chinchón from outside · the clock tower on the hill and its view · the Augustinian convent and its garden (Parador) · the white lanes around the square

How to get there
