My tip“≈45 min from Jerez de la Frontera. The salt pans are on the Arcos–El Bosque road (km 24.7); the tour is in Spanish with the owner and is enjoyable for children, so call before you go. The ground is flat and the visit takes about an hour.”
A “modern” white town, laid out in the 18th century with straight streets, unlike the mountain villages. Nearby are the inland “Iptuci” salt pans, where salt has been drawn from a salt spring since Roman times; they are still in operation.
What to see
The historic Iptuci salt pans · the site of the Roman-Iberian city of “Iptuci” · the planned town square · the “La Saxtia” interpretation centre · the route through the white villages towards El Bosque
