  • Originally a mosque (confirmed)

“Closed for restoration for now; admire the minaret and the gate from the Santa Clara lane, 2 minutes from the mosque.”

The convent was built on a neighbourhood mosque from the Umayyad period (the 4th century AH / 10th century CE). The base of its minaret, its gate and parts of its prayer hall are still visible in the building. It was turned into a convent of Poor Clares in the 13th century.
