One of my places in Barcelona

Palau Güell

Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-MudarraMy tip
“Closed Monday; the audio guide is excellent and included in the ticket. Start from the roof if the weather is clear.”

The palace that made Gaudí's name (1886–1890): built for his patron Eusebi Güell near La Rambla, with a severe stone facade, a central hall topped by a perforated dome through which starlight filters, and a roof with 20 mosaic-clad chimneys. Part of a World Heritage Site.

What to see

The facade and its hammered wrought-iron gates · the central hall beneath its dome, pierced like the sky · the roof with its chimneys clad in coloured ceramic · the stables in the cellar with their brick columns · Rambla street just outside the door
