My tip“The caves are visited on a guided tour (book in advance), and they need some easy climbing. The alleys are not suitable for people with limited mobility.”
An amazing mountain town south of Valencia, whose old quarter with narrow Andalusi alleys clings to a rock above a valley. In a nearby cliff are the “Moors' Caves”: dozens of rooms carved into the rock, whose purpose is not known for certain.
What to see
The medieval quarter with its Andalusi layout · the Moors’ caves in the cliff · the ice well “Cava de Sant Blai” · the bullring carved into the rock · valley viewpoints
Moderate effort, needs a car
1 hour 15 minutes from Valencia or Alicante by car. Stairs and sloping alleys; half a day.
